The Trustees formulate strategy, ensure that policy and practice are in keeping with our aims and objectives, and that the Phoenix meets its legal and financial obligations. The Board acts as the guardian of the Trust's vision, and values and supports its staff. The Trustees act voluntarily, and receive no benefits from the Phoenix Cinema.

Adrian Bull

Adrian Bull is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cinelab Film & Digital (formerly Cinelab London), which he launched in 2013 as a specialist film laboratory and archival restoration service. Under his leadership, the company has evolved into the UK’s only full-service film lab and digital dailies facility, following its merger with On Set Tech in March 2021. Bull has overseen its growth into a powerhouse supporting over 600 cinematographers and generating credits on major feature films and TV shows including Fantastic Four:First Steps, No Time to Die, Deadpool & Wolverine, The Phoenician Scheme, The Banshees Of Inisherin, The Witcher, Succession, Saltburn and Last Night in Soho. He has been a vocal advocate for the resurgence of celluloid film, investing in state‑of‑the‑art photochemical processing, scanning, digital workflows, and archive restoration—championing the coexistence of film and digital formats to uphold creative choice for filmmakers .

Adrian has served as a trustee of the Phoenix Cinema Trust since March 2021, with the cinema being his local from the early nineties. In this capacity, he brings substantial industry insight to the historic East Finchley institution, shaping its strategy, governance, and programming. His role supports the cinema's mission to foster community engagement and enrich cultural life in London.

Benjamin Ellis

East Finchley local, NHS doctor, passionate about inclusion and community.

Madeleine Hoare

Long term High Barnet resident and Phoenix customer. A former solicitor and head teacher with ten years at the V&A, working with hospital schools, children with special needs  and community groups. A local, independent cinema like the Phoenix is a treasure, and I want to do whatever I can to safeguard it for future generations.
