After moving from Belgium to Antibes so that his sister can help him care for his young son, feckless bouncer and bare-knuckle fighter Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts, Bullhead ) falls into a friendship with killer whale trainer Stephanie (Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, La Vie En Rose). When she is permanently injured in an accident, their relationship develops into something deeper as Ali tries to help her adjust to her new reality. Director Jacques Audiard ( A Prophet, The Beat My Heart Skipped ) was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes for this passionate and moving love story.
