Phillippe (Cluzet, Tell No One), a wealthy aristocrat, suffers a serious paragliding accident which leaves him as a paraplegic. Against the advice of friends, he impulsively hires Driss (Sy, who won numerous awards for the role), a street youth from the Paris banlieues, to work as his live-in carer, despite the younger man not really wanting the job. Driss’s confrontational and unconventional approach proves unexpectedly successful, and the two men eventually become close friends. Based on a true story, Untouchable avoids sentimentality as it tells this moving tale in a brutally honest but very funny way.
