Raised in a fundamentalist Mormon community led by her father, preacher Paul (Zane, Dead Calm), 15 year old Rachel (Garner, Martha Marcy May Marlene) believes that she has conceived immaculately while listening to a cover version of Blondie's Hangin' on the Telephone on a cassette tape. Ostracised from her friends and family, her search for the man whose recorded voice she believes has made her pregnant leads her to Las Vegas and into contact with Clyde (Culkin), a skateboarder whose very different approach to life leads Rachel to question everything she has ever believed. Garner is wonderful as the innocent Rachel in this sweet contemporary Nativity story.
