The Phoenix is excited to present eight outstanding operas from the New York Metropolitan Opera Season 2010-2011.
Enjoy all the colour and excitement of these magnificent productions when they are transmitted live via satellite from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York directly to our cinema screen. Seating is limited for this season to 255 and so The Phoenix is offering priority booking to Friends of the Phoenix for one week only. Tickets will go on general sale on Sunday 23rd May. Wagner’s Das Rheingold – Saturday 9th October at 6pm

Robert Lepage’s new production of the Ring cycle opens with the prologue to
Wagner’s epic drama with Bryn Terfel singing the leading role of Wotan for the
fi rst time with the company, heading an extraordinary cast.
Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov – Saturday 23rd October at 5pm

Mussorgsky’s soulful spectacle, which captures the suffering and ambition of a
nation.

Anna Netrebko returns to the role that made her a Met star as Norina in Otto
Verdi’s Don Carlo – Saturday 11th December at 5.30pm

Alagna, Simon Keenlyside, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Eric Halfvarson.
Nicholas Hytner (The History Boys, The Madness of King George) makes his Met
debut with this new production which was greeted with popular success when it
opened in London. Roberto Alagna leads the cast in the title role of Verdi’s most
ambitious opera.
Puccini’s La Fanciulla Del West – Saturday 8th January at 6pm

Puccini’s wild west opera stars all-American diva Deborah Voigt in a performance
that marks the 100th anniversary of the opera’s world premiere at the Met.
Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride – Saturday 26th February at 6pm

Susan Graham, Plácido Domingo and Paul Groves reprise their starring roles in
Gluck’s masterful interpretation of the Greek myth.
Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor – Saturday 19th March at 5pm

Natalie Dessay returns to her triumphant portrayal of the fragile heroine in the
Met’s hit production.
Rossini’s Le Comte Ory – Saturday 9th April at 6pm

Rossini’s vocally dazzling comedy soars with bel canto sensation Juan Diego
Flórez in the title role of this Met premiere production. He vies with
mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, in the trouser role of Isolier, for the love
of the lonely Countess Adele, sung by soprano Diana Damrau.
Strauss’s Capriccio – Saturday 23rd April at 6pm

Renée Fleming dazzled audiences when she sang Capriccio’s fi nal scene on
Opening Night of the 2008-09 season. Now she sings Strauss’s entire diva
showvcase, with Andrew Davis conducting.
Verdi’s Il Trovatore – Saturday 30th April at 6pm

The Met has assembled an extraordinary cast for the second installment
of Robert Lepage’s new production of the Ring cycle, conducted by James
Levine. Bryn Terfel is Wotan, lord of the Gods. Deborah Voigt adds the part
of Brunnhilde to her extensive Wagnerian repertoire at the Met.
