70 years ago a shy boy named Carl met a loud tomboy named Ellie. After many decades happily married, Ellie sadly passes away, leaving Carl a lonely old man. Tired with modern life, Carl decides to make good the plans he and Ellie made to travel far away. Overnight he ties thousands of balloons to his house and floats away. Unfortunately, he accidentally takes along Russell, an enthusiastic boy scout. Once landed, our adventures find a magical new home, endangered birds and a talking dog. In fact, Dug the dog is considered so lovable that the character won the coveted Palm Dog award in Cannes last year!
