Based on the classic novel by Arthur Ransome.  The four Walker children, on holiday in the Lake District with their mother, acquire a dinghy, Swallow. Camping on an island, they discover they have rivals - Peggy and Nancy, the Amazons. The six decide to wage war on the Amazons' Uncle Jim, but first there is to be a pirate battle to decide which dinghy shall be on the flagship. Titty, alone on the island, captures Amazon and overhears crooks saying they have burgled Uncle Jim. Police are called and all is resolved but Uncle Jim walks the plank as penance.
