The Last Picture Show

With a tear in our eye and a flutter in our heart we closed the doors on Sunday evening.  They won’t open again until early September, at least not to you lovely people.

Our closing weekend was a celebration of cinema, with recent hits such as A Prophet and A Single Man sharing the bill with older classics such as Brief Encounter and Top Hat.  It was this last film that bowed us out and I donned the obligatory Top Hat and tails, though alas I can’t dance like Fred Astaire (or even Fred Flintstone for that matter).

As soon as we closed the builders upped the pace.  By the end of Monday the old air-handling units had been torn out, a big hole had been dug in the back yard and carpet was being ripped up in the auditorium.

This is the really critical time for the project,  we have just 13 weeks to complete all the works that need to be done.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back into our arms.
