1 year full time contract, North London
The General Manager is responsible for the daily running of The Phoenix within tight budgets and the implementation of company strategy as determined by the Board of Trustees. You will work closely with all staff and line manage the Operations Manager as well as the IT, Marketing, Education and Heritage officers. You will also maintain key relationships with stakeholders and funders. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of film and experience in administration and management, ideally within the cinema or arts sector.
Phoenix Cinema is one of the oldest cinemas in the country and welcomes over 90,000 customers into its Art Deco single-screen auditorium each year. With a varied programme of independent and foreign films plus live opera and theatre screenings via satellite, The Phoenix is a much-cherished part of the North London community.
The Phoenix Cinema Trust is recruiting a dynamic individual to lead our organisation during a very exciting year. Our Centenary Restoration Project, partially funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is coming to an end in August 2012. You will help shape and implement the education strategy to carry forward this work into 2013 and beyond.
£24,000-£27,000 (salary according to experience)
